Through her leadership and implementation of capacity building programs, Gabriela helps small businesses, contractors, non-profits, community based organizations and transportation agencies strengthen their capacities. As Business Development Manager at INDEP, she supports numerous functions as General Contractor/ Subcontractor Liaison, DBE Support Representation, Operational and Document Control Services, Business Development, and Dispute Resolution to name a few. Garcia is a passionate advocate for equitable opportunities for underrepresented groups, and currently serves as a board member for Calculated Genius; a non-profit committed to promoting engineering careers for underrepresented youth in the Chicagoland area. She is a member of the Women in Transportation Seminar (WTS), where she Co-Chairs the Diversity Committee, and is also part of the Illinois State Toll Highway Authority’s Diversity Advisory Council. Additionally, Garcia has served as Secretary for Mujeres Latinas en Accion’s Young Professional Advisory Council.
